A.M.I.E. (India) Examination
ABOUT THE COURSE
Recognized by Government of India as equivalent to Degree in Engineering. The
Institution of Engineers (India), Calcutta is the largest professional body of
engineering in Asia and is the accrediting body that gives engineering
qualification, for those who pass Sections A and B examinations of IE (I) which
enables one to obtain graduate membership of the IE (I ) (equivalent to B.E.).
This is the pass-word for professional recognition as ‘Chartered Engineer’.
Defence services, railways and many public institutions offer extra benefits
like cash awards, increments and promotions for those with this qualification.
The Examination of the Institution of Engineers consists of two sections.
DURATION
Section A - 2 years
Section B - 2 years
ELIGIBILITY
A.M.I.E. Section - A (NON -DIPLOMA STREAM)
Age: Above 18 years.
A pass in the intermediate science examination with English, Mathematics,
Physics and Chemistry with at least 45% marks in the subjects or equivalent
exam.
A.M.I.E. SECTION - B
Age : Above 18 years.
Pass in section A or equivalent examination.
DIPLOMA STREAM (SECTION A)
For those who have passed D.M.E./D.E.E./D.C.E.
Duration : One Year.
Eligibility
Age : Above 18 Years.
A Pass in 3 years diploma course conducted by the Board of technical Education
of any State in India.
